We also ask that you bring side items and drinks to share as well as recreational equipment (i.e. football, Frisbee, etc.). We will also have carpooling provided by UF students for those without a Gator One ID to get in.

On Saturday evening we will have an Italian catered dinner (which is going to be totally awesome by the way), and we will have the TALENT SHOW and some Gator Basketball. (YAY FOR THE FINAL FOUR!!!) We need people to perform in the TALENT SHOW. If you or a family member is interested in being a part of the show, please see Sara Minton before Thursday, March 29, if possible.

MSM
Sign-ups for MSM will continue this Thursday at The Gathering. MSM is April 13th-15th and it is a fun and awesome retreat (from personal experience) in Leesburg. Cost will minimal and is to be announced later. We will also provide carpooling for those students who need rides on the 13th.

STAFF HUNT
Staff Hunt is on April 22nd from 3-4 p.m. For those of you who do not know or have never done it before, it is basically a scavenger hunt to find the church staff in the Oaks Mall in one hour, which should be a ton of fun!

So that’s about it!

See you soon,
Allison

PS-Here is some more information for Parent’s Weekend.

Dinner on Saturday will be at 7:30 p.m., and the basketball game
begins at 8:45 p.m.

If you have younger siblings that would like to participate in the
Easter Egg Hunt on Sunday, then please let Katie McNichol know as soon

Welcome home Missions Team

March 15, 2007

The UF Wesley Foundation sent a team of students, alumni, and adults, led by Pastor/Director Rev. David Fuquay to Mississippi this past week over UF’s Spring Break. They performed work in relief of hurricane Katrina, visited New Orleans, and will be returning to Gainesville this Friday, March 16.

This is the second missions team UF Wesley has sent to the area, the other working over Christmas Break this past December. Both trips have been great experiences for the participants to both share the love of Christ with people in need and also to bond with each other as a group in service together.

Please be in prayer for them today as they complete their work and tomorrow as they make the long drive home.

Welcome!

March 15, 2007

Welcome to the brand new blog for the UF Wesley Foundation. We are the official campus ministry for the United Methodist Church in Gainesville, FL. This blog may not see very much action until the summer or next fall, but it is still here until then.

While it is here, we might as well invite you to learn more about us. You can read our “about” page, or you can visit our main website at www.MyUUMC.com. If you are UF or SFCC student and looking for a place to plug-in, we would love for you to check us out. Our main student worship gathering is Thursday nights at 8 pm at the PDCSC (located on the corner of NW 14th St. and University Ave – across from Matherly Hall). We also worship on Sunday mornings with the congregation of University United Methodist Church in the same building at 10:30 am. We have many other opportunities to hang out, learn, serve, worship, discuss, grow, and pretty much anything else you’ve always wanted to do in church. Check out our website for more information.
